AN AUTUMN DAY

The fleeting essence of autumn in the Pre-Alpine forests wood that produces color, a gift from Nature as she bids farewell in triumphant splendor before white winter slumber sets in. We wanted to immortalize the natural quality of wood and the intensity of colored acetate, in homage to this eternal display.A place where ethics join aesthetics, with a touch that is chastely natural and decidedly modern.

The leaves were at their showy best that morning: im- possible to resist the urge to drive through the brilliant woods where the southern exposure had brought the flaming foliage to its prime. The light-colored wood of the trunks seemed almost shy against the triumphant hues of the leaves: Nature in awe of Nature itself. Mr. Rye and Mr. Lye were sorely tempted by the desire to reproduce that juxtaposition of natural wood and brilliant color.
